Building the World We Want to Live In
For us, being sustainable means taking care. Of the land where we were born, of those who work with us, of the resources we use every day. Sustainability is not a destination, but a continuous journey made of choices and small measurable steps. Here is how we do it.
Every year we improve the energy efficiency of our operations, from the gradual replacement of boilers with heat pumps to the complete conversion of lighting systems. In 2021 we installed our first 1 MW photovoltaic system, and a second 400 to 500 kW installation aims to further reduce Alf Group’s dependence on fossil fuels. These are choices that require investment but generate long term value: fewer emissions, greater energy independence, and a cleaner future for the land that hosts us.
Our production sites are designed to exist in balance with their surroundings. In Francenigo we renovated the historic building on Via San Pio X, redesigning its façade to harmonize with the urban fabric and reorganizing logistics to reduce heavy vehicle traffic near residential areas. We also redeveloped the industrial area on Via per Sacile, now home to Valdesign Cucine: over 40,000 square meters of degraded space brought back to life, without additional land consumption and returning to the community a regenerated and productive area. For us, recovering a place means above all giving something back.
We reduce waste, make the most of resources, and seek solutions that extend the life cycle of materials. In this spirit, we participate in the CONAI consortium and collaborate with partners such as Recycla, part of the Hera Group, which has recognized our achievements in material management and recycling. This collaboration has enabled us to reach a 97 percent recovery rate of the waste generated in our facilities, a figure that reflects Alf Group’s ongoing commitment to circular management. Because quality is not only in what we create, but also in how we choose to create it.
Raw materials and production processes are managed with the same care our brands dedicate to their products. Even the most complex waste materials, such as paints and industrial residues, are transformed into alternative industrial fuel, reducing the use of fossil sources and environmental impact. It is an approach that combines technology, regulation, and a culture of doing things well. For us, this is the true meaning of taking care.
